The following symptoms indicate that you have a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro not charging problem: In other words, your MacBook is mostly working well except for the battery charging function. Note: If youre water sensors are NOT red, you could feign ignorance and probably get them to repair it for free.A MacBook battery not charging problem means that you can turn on your MacBook, but the charger will not charge the battery. IT just sucks that I have had this laptop for 2 months and bought apple care but none of that matters if you spilled shit on it. I went ahead and agreed, figuring that if they replace the logic board and SSD that would be 1200 bucks in parts alone. IN summary, by trying to clean the logic board I made things worse and tripped another water indicator (If you clean your logic board, make sure you are careful and have everything disconnected and electrically grounded).ĪNyways, I took my laptop into Apple and they said that my warranty is NOT valid, and they can replace ALLL parts that have been damaged by water for a flat rate of $750! I then proceded to wash connections with 99% IPA, and to my dismay I got IPA on another indicator and also I somehow shorted one of the circuits. I removed the case 2 days after the incident, saw minimal liquid damage (but one water indicator was red thus nulliyfing any warranty I had). Once again, do not turn on your laptop once it has been damaged by water. It would also help to remove the back case and dry off any liquid.Īnyways, after it shut off, I tried to turn it back on that day, and it would only turn on with the charger plugged in. In hindsight, I should have immediately disconnected everything and let it dry for several days. I continued to use it for 5 minutes (HUGE MISTAKE) and I started to smell burnt plastic, and I heard crackling. So, once I spilled my drink on the keyboard (which must have been like 100mL worth of liquid) I immediately dried it off. This is not really a question per se, but I wanted to share my experience of spilling an energy drink on my 2 month old, applecare covered, 13" Early 2015 MacBook Pro w/ Retina display laptop.
